Dreams End

The Bumpy Ride

The Trouble with People

What did you think you would do with your life, back when you were a kid?
Where did you think you would end up? Here? I bet you didn't.
What about all of those fantastical places you were going to visit, all those incredible adventures you were going to take part in?
Whatever happened to all of those wonderful dreams you dreamed?
If you were very lucky you did get to see a bit of the world, and you may even have had a tiny adventure. So, how did it end up like this?
How did that bright eyed kid turn in to you?
You know which 'you' I am talking about, the one who mumbles "Yeah, Right" at least three times through every newscast, the one who asks "What's the catch?" after labouriously inspecting the offered bargain.
Yes, that you.
Deep down you know what happened. Life happened. You got slammed by life, it's no big deal, it happens to most of us.
Of course, some of us get slammed harder than others. It's hard to pin down exactly why this is. Some will tell you it's just that others work harder at school, or at their job. Some will say that a certain few are naturally brighter than most. Personally, I think it's a lottery.
At the end of the dream all that awaits is a very bumpy ride, and once you get on it there's no getting off. Make the most of it, because when the journey ends no-one remembers who was traveling.
